2025 is here! As we close out 2024, we’re reflecting on the standout tools, treatments, strategies, and thought leaders that made a big impact this year—and how they can set your practice up for even greater success in 2025. From innovative technologies to game-changing techniques, these are the medical aesthetics favorites that have transformed the way we approach aesthetic medicine at our own clinics. Whether it’s streamlining operations for smoother workflows or leaders in the industry who are paving the way for improved treatments, these top picks have found a place in our hearts and our trainings. Check out how our favorites of 2024 can help elevate your practice in the year ahead!

  1. Tuesday Trainings

We are starting off the list with something quite close to our hearts. In 2024, MINT launched a monthly training session exclusively for our subscribers. These trainings are 1 hour long and focus on a specific treatment, generally with a complete hands-on treatment shown during the training. Our goal was to provide an avenue for our community to come together, ask questions, and expand their understanding of treatments. So whether you’re looking to improve results, assess a prospective technology or simply stay up-to-date on the industry’s offerings, these are a great FREE resource for E-course subscribers.

A bonus: In 2025, we are launching Business Tuesday Trainings designed management and ownership to get insights on running a successful business. Join us on the first Tuesday of each month at 11:30am Central for Business training and at 2:30pm Central for Clinical trainings. Not a subscriber yet? Check out the benefits of the MINT E-course subscription here!

2. BBL for Hands

We’ve loved Sciton’s Broadband Light (BBL) for years. Its versatility, results, and improvement are only some of the best parts of it. However, this past year, we have seen an increase in BBL treatments on the hands. One of the biggest reasons is that it’s a great treatment add-on to larger areas like the arms! Being a small zone, hands are quick and offer amazing results where many clients don’t consider getting treated. Because of exposure during a range of activities like driving, many hands are in need of treatment and see immense improvement in the sun damage present. Just make sure they haven’t had sun exposure recently before treating!

3. Dr. Mary Claire Haver & The New Menopause

We’re giving you 2-for-1 on this one. Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a board-certified OB/GYN and expert on pre, peri, and post menopause. Through wellness practices such as hormone therapy and diet, she’s helped thousands of women and medical professionals understand the real menopausal experience. Her newest book, The New Menopause highlights ways for women to reclaim the journey and control the symptoms that have been dismissed for years. If you are, know, or love a women, Dr. Haver is an incredible resource.

We were lucky enough to sponsor a stop on her book tour and record the session for our podcast. Listen to Dr. Mary Claire Haver’s chat here.

4. Simple Skincare

No, this is not a name brand. This is a philosophy! After over 20 years of experience in medical aesthetics, we have found that no amount of results will make people complete a 12-step skincare routine. That’s why we tell our clients to focus on four main steps in their skincare: Cleanse, hydrate, nourish, and protect.

Now, this isn’t to say that a massive skincare routine is bad or that selling lots of products is wrong. But it’s important to remember that many of our clients simply won’t stick with an extended lineup whether due to the time it takes to apply, the cost of the products, or a range of other factors. We’ve found it’s best to keep it simple—and medical grade!

5. AesthetiCare 411

As unbiased as we can be, MINT is begging you to give the AesthetiCare 411 E-course some attention. We have nearly 40 E-courses and this might just be our most underrated one. Each quarter, our management team Matt Taranto (Managing Partner), Tracie Duke (General Manager), and Karen Cobb (Marketing Director) come together to discuss the previous months in our business.

In these quick episodes, they share everything! From hirings and firings to monthly specials and email blasts, the team reviews how the clinic performed. The best part is, you won’t just hear “we are amazing”; you’ll get the true story! If a marketing initiative flopped, we will share why. If a clinical process created confusion, we will give you the tips to avoid it in your own clinic. AesthetiCare 411 might just be the secret sauce to make your 2025 exceptional!

6. Our Long-Time Clients

In all we do, our aim is to be an ongoing resource for aesthetic practices around the world. Yet, many businesses utilize our services for select purposes: training a new hire, bringing on a new device, etc. We love being part of your journey however you’ll have us, but one of our favorite things (ever) is watching a clinic grow year after year.

For those of you that have been subscribers for years or come to Kansas City annually, thank you! Your faith in us and our team is so appreciated. Our true value comes in when the foundation of our training is built upon and expanded every year to push a practice beyond their goals.

7. CLN SportWash

If you’ve ever had the desperate client that simply cannot overcome breakouts no matter how hard they try, this might be the product for them. We use the CLN Moisture Balancing Cleanser prior to most of our treatments, but the SportWash deserves it’s own call out. On our own team, we’ve had several members try many different cleansers before falling in love with the SportWash. And clients will love it because it’s affordable and effective!

8. Podcast Episode #41 – Wellness, Weight Loss, and Hormone Therapy with Dr. Amy Carter

Picking a single podcast episode feels like choosing a favorite child. We love them all, but this episode stood out as one of the best of 2024. Dr. Amy Carter DO, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and Medical Director for AesthetiCare Ward Parkway. She heads up our wellness center and provides life-changing care to our clients. In this episode, she shares insights for the new-and-exciting trends in wellness and provides some considerations for medical professionals to think about when treating for weight loss and hormone therapy.

If you haven’t listened to the Making A (Multi) Million Dollar Medspa Podcast, you absolutely must. It is the best FREE resource MINT offers. Plus you’ll hear more about our own practices, other clinics across the country, and so much more. Host, Kathy Taranto is a wealth of knowledge, while also bringing in leaders in aesthetics to share their experiences as well.

9. Microneedling Radio Frequency on the Body

At AesthetiCare and MINT, we utilize the Lutronic Genius technology—and it really is genius! Over the last 12 months, we’ve come to love the results of Microneedling RF on the body. From neck to scars to those pesky arm flaps, the capabilities of body treatments with microneedling RF is astounding. Clients are loving the results and providers love its simplicity! While there are some nuances to the settings, the technique is straight-forward making it a breeze to master with the proper training. Within our E-course, you’ll find lots of hands-on treatments on various zones of the body!

10. Sciton

This is an all-inclusive one. We’ve been training partners with Sciton for years and there’s a reason: Sciton does it right! Whether you have a device or attend their events, they do so much to ensure clinics and providers have quality training for their quality devices.

Another cool thing? In 2024, Sciton sent two different sales regions to Kansas City to train with MINT. Their goal was to ensure all members of their employment were thoroughly trained on the true uses of their devices. This means when you talk with a Sciton sales representative they actually know what they are talking about. We love a company that believes in training!

11. Dr. Andrea Tse

If you don’t know Dr. Tse, we highly recommend you watch or listen to Episode #10 – The Learning Curve of Starting a Medspa with Dr. Andrea Tse. She is genuine, funny, and brilliant. Her experience of shifting from medical practice to building her own aesthetics business, OptimalU, is relatable and insightful. Dr. Tse is truly a leader in this industry and we are beyond lucky to know and love her.

12. Dysport vs Botox

This one might seem a bit confusing as a 2024 favorite, but the conversation of Dysport versus Botox is a big one! We’ve seen lots of results using both products and we have been wowed at the variation. So here is the true “favorite”: Being part of the conversation. We highly recommend that you do this work for yourself to see what works best in your practice. Assess results, profit margins, and studies on efficacy.

If you’ve been a loyalist to Botox, we don’t blame you. However, even if you choose to only offer one product, have a reason. If a client calls asking for Dysport, be able to give them a reason for why that’s not on your menu. Simply put: educate yourself and your team so they can provide helpful information to your customers.

13. The Front Desk

This one is for the unsung heroes of every practice: The front-line fighters smiling through every angry client’s wrath and last minute cancellation. While we’ve always known the value of our front desk team, we put an emphasis on training for this crucial role. In October, we launched the a new course designed for managers of the front desk. The following month, we released Front Desk for Staff which includes all the aspects of being part of the front desk team. If you haven’t checked it out, we strongly recommend you do.

And to remind everyone: thank your front desk team for all they do! This is a tough role that ensures schedules are correct, treatments are booked, and payments are made. What would we do without them?!

14. Vrtly

In our practices, we leverage the control of Vrtly on our tvs in waiting rooms, numbing rooms, and even select treatment rooms. Vrtly is a screen management platform that is free for practices. When you sign up you’ll be asked to select which services are offered on your menu, and the brands will provide content for you to choose from to promote those treatments. Plus, you can add interactive aspects like QR codes. In a study with Hydrafacial, clinics who promoted Hydrafacials on their in-office screens saw an 83% increase in bookings for that service. Making the most of the time clients are in your building is a no brainer.

15. MOXI

This might be copied and pasted because this is an ongoing love affair. MOXI is our favorite laser treatment for a range of clients and conditions. It’s incredible for combination therapy, darker Fitzpatrick types, and more! The technology is very straightforward and the technique is simple making it an ideal option for clinics that are branching into lasers. As a manager or owner, lasers (MOXI included) offer the best gross profit per hour when compared to injectables and facials. All of this coupled with results that are outstanding makes MOXI our final favorite of 2024—and just maybe 2025 too!

Until Next Year…

As we step into 2025, we’re excited to see how these favorites will continue to shape the future of aesthetic medicine. Whether you’re looking to refine your offerings, improve patient outcomes, or grow your practice, these tools and strategies are here to help you succeed. At MINT, we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way. Let’s make 2025 your most successful year yet!
